Getting Started: Questions About Therapy
Are you accepting new clients right now?
Yes. The best way to start is by scheduling an intro call with me or sending me a message. I will let you know my availability and answer initial questions.
How do I know if we would be a good fit to work together?

What happens in the first therapy session?
The first session is time for me to get to know you: who you are and what matters to you. Subsequent therapy sessions focus on helping you clarify your values, strengthen communication and boundaries, gain emotional and decision-making clarity, and navigate major life transitions with confidence. I believe you can work on your relationship with or without a partner present.
Do I need to be in crisis to start therapy?
No. Many people start therapy when they are not in crisis but want support thinking through a situation, making a decision, or understanding patterns in their lives or relationships. Therapy can be helpful anytime you want a space to reflect, gain perspective, and work through something that feels important to you.
How often do people come to therapy?
I work weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Some of my clients also do occasional check-ins after they have finished regular therapy sessions.
Who I Work With
Who do you typically work with?
For therapy, I primarily work with women in their 20s and 30s and also women in midlife and in retirement. For creative process work, I work with artists, musicians, writers, actors, entrepreneurs, and all kinds of creatives. All gender expressions and identities are welcome.
What kinds of concerns do people usually bring to therapy?
My clients come for a variety of reasons, including anxiety, depression, overthinking, relationship difficulties, transitions, or feeling stuck or uncertain about decisions. Some want to understand patterns in their relationships or emotional reactions; others are seeking support during periods of stress or loss.
Can therapy help if I tend to overthink or second-guess myself?
Yes. Some clients find themselves caught in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or second-guessing their decisions. Therapy can help you slow down that process, expose the underlying pattern, and develop more confidence in your judgment.
Can therapy help if I feel stuck in my life or relationships?
Yes. You might feel stuck in a situation, pattern, or relationship and want help seeing it more clearly. Therapy can help you step back, understand, and think through possible options.
Do you see children/families?
I adore kids, but I work primarily with adults age 20+. If you have a child needing help, I would be treating you as a family.
My Approach
What makes your approach different from other therapists?
I believe the therapeutic relationship is twice as important as techniques used for the outcome of therapy (backed by research!) Sessions with me are like a good conversation and not a clinical exam. As an international artist and trained mediator, creativity and fairness are trademarks of my work.

How does being an artist influence your work as a therapist?
Being an artist shapes how I see and engage. Making art has taught me that creative blocks are part of the process and that working through them can lead to new levels of creativity and success.
I am also a trained mediator and I use that in my couples and partner work.
What does “mediation-informed therapy” mean?
Mediation is a neutral, fair process to help adults navigate difficult conversations, make decisions, and move forward with clarity. I have found that incorporating mediation principles like neutrality, structured conversation, and a focus on shared interests rather than “positions” helps my clients feel heard and understood.
Do you give advice, or help clients figure things out for themselves?
Therapy is less about giving advice and more about helping you think things through. I strive to ask powerful questions that help you think differently.
Practical Details
Do you offer online therapy (telehealth) or in-person sessions?
My therapy services are in-person in my office in Athens, Ohio, and telehealth for all clients living in Ohio. Creative process work is available for clients living worldwide.
What are your therapy fees?
Here are my fees for therapy.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance but I can give you a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellation of appointments. I charge 50% for all missed appointments unless notified 24 hours before your appointment.
