About Me

Barbara Bryn Klare, therapist in Ohio

Coming to This Work Later in Life

After ten years in retirement, I decided to go back to school in my 60s. Coming to this field later in life — and from an international art career — gives me a wide perspective on the human experience. I draw on decades of professional, creative, and all kinds of lived experience (long-term partnering, divorce, single parenting, blended family, financial ups and downs) to meet you with respect and compassion.

What I Offer You

My work centers on helping adults, couples, and all kinds of relationships or situations (or even “situationships”) where conscious navigation of conflict, change, or distance is needed. I facilitate conversations that help my clients move around and through broken alliances, finding clarity and reconnecting with their values. More about my approach →

Why I Do Challenging Mediation Work

It’s the good kind of challenge — working on your relationships and by the way, yourself — and it provides an opportunity for very satisfying results in ways you probably won’t reach on your own. My practice represents a personal commitment to stay involved, fully commit to learning and growing, and to contribute to the wellbeing of my community.

Where Art and Helping Others Connects for Me

My primary focus is relational but my background as an artist also shapes how I see, listen, and engage. The creative process has taught me that repair and transformation are possible — that what’s broken or overlooked can often be restored.
